Speaking Opportunities
Among the ways in which Johnson School alumni contribute to our performance learning model is lecturing on campus. Dozens of graduates lead discussions and give teaching talks in our MBA classrooms each year. Most of these opportunities are arranged by faculty members.
The Johnson School also sponsors two ongoing lecture series:
- The Lewis H. Durland Memorial Lecture Series
The Durland Lecture is the Johnson School's most prestigious speaking event. Each year, the dean of the school invites a distinguished business leader to campus to meet with students and faculty members and to deliver a major address.
This lecture is supported by the Durland Memorial Fund, established in 1983 to honor Lewis Durland, former treasurer of Cornell University.
- The Roy H. Park Leadership Speaker Series
This series brings influential "thought leaders" and corporate executives to campus to give a lecture on the theme of leadership and to interact candidly with students. It is an essential part of the Johnson School's leadership development program. It provides Park Leadership Fellows and other students an opportunity to hear mature views on leadership and to develop role models based on the experiences of seasoned executives.
The Roy H. Park Leadership Speaker Series is supported by the Triad Foundation.
