October 23, 2009 | Ithaca, NY | Dean Joe Thomas will host two live, interactive webcasts on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, from 8:30- 9:30 a.m. (EDT) and from 4:00-5:00 p.m. (EDT), in which he will provide updates on the state of the Johnson School and summarize progress on the Strategic Plan. The presentations will include a Q&A, during which Dean Thomas will respond to questions submitted by viewers. The updates, broadcast from the Boardroom Studio at Sage Hall, will be presented twice in order to provide access to viewers in different time zones.
The Johnson School's Strategic Plan, unveiled in February 2009, is an important tool that provides a long-term course of action for the school. Input from several hundred Johnson School alumni, students, employees, friends, and corporate partners informed the plan's six initiatives: Program Innovation; Global Education; Thought Leadership; Alumni Engagement; Deepened Connections to Business; and Financial Support. The dean is expected to report on advancements made in each initiative.
Progress made in each initiative, to date, is the result of work performed by task forces organized immediately after the formulation of the plan. Task force members include faculty, staff, alumni, and students, as well as the associate deans who make up the Johnson School's Management Committee.
If you have questions you would like Dean Thomas to address, please send them to questions@johnson.cornell.edu in advance, or email them in during the webcast.
