How to Recruit
Accelerated MBA Students
In addition to our two-year MBA program, the Johnson School offers an Accelerated MBA (formerly the Twelve-Month Option) program, enabling individuals with graduate degrees in technical or scientific fields to earn an MBA in just one year. Students begin in May and spend the summer in an intensive ten-week summer term where they cover the Core curriculum. They then join the second-year students in the fall, completing their degree the following May. The Accelerated MBA program comprises a full MBA curriculum.
When interviewing Johnson School students for full-time positions, you may find some Accelerated MBA students on your schedule. As prospective employees, Accelerated MBAs typically have excellent analytical skills, five to seven years of professional experience, and a strong career focus. They are often pursuing an MBA to help them achieve a leadership position in their area of expertise.
Although they will not have had the benefit of an MBA summer internship, many of the Accelerated MBA students take the Management Practicum taught by our consultant in residence. The students work in teams and are assigned to companies where they gain real problem-solving experience. The practicum begins in the early fall and continues through a two-week on-site internship with the respective company in January.
